Data sources
KayaSync uses only openly-reusable food data. No proprietary database, no scraping, and no dataset whose terms are unclear.
Why this page exists
A free API is not the same as open data, and open data is not the same as permission to copy a database. Those are six separate questions — API access, data licence, database licence, image licence, redistribution, and commercial use — and each source answers them differently. Every provider must answer all six before it can be used, and the answers are what this page shows.
Nutrition values are estimates drawn from these sources. An unknown value is shown as unknown, never as zero.
